About the event

The Supporting Workers' Autonomy Project Yukon (SWAPY) is excited to launch our Sex Work 101workshop, the first in a series of training workshops we offer. SWAPY is a project of the Yukon Status of Women Council, an intersectional feminist & community-based research organization in Whitehorse, Yukon.

Sex Work 101 is an 1.5 hour workshop in which we begin to unpack our ideas around sex work and dispel myths that conflate sex work with sexualized exploitation and human trafficking. This training uses a labour & human rights approach to stigma busting harmful ideologies about sex and sex work, and supports you in learning about the complexities of the sex industry and the legislation surrounding sex work in Canada. This workshop will serve as a prerequisite for upcoming training opportunities coming in 2023. We are offering this training in person in Whitehorse, location TBA, and will include snacks.

To learn more about this training, or to book a private workshop for your organization, please contact us! This training can also be offered online via zoom by request, and can be tailored to your organization's specific needs. Reach out for more information: swap@yswc.ca / (867) 332-5541.
